Cow Horse Trainers
Making a cow horse is step-by-step process. Any horse can be used to work cattle, but some horses never get cow savvy. It’s the cow horse trainer’s job to help those savvy horses develop into a great working cow horses.
Storibook Farm Performance Horses sends their horses to different trainers to hone their particular talents. Callee Miller was recommended to us by Brian Lesher, who had SBF Nitro Dual Chex in training with Callee Miller. After a phone call with Callee and discussing our goals for SBF Smart Lil Boon, we selected Callee based on her years of real life ranch experience coupled with her horsemanship philosophy and training program.
Callee successfully showed SBF Smart Lil Boon and made the Limited Open Finals at the 2019 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity. As we move forward in our program, Callee found a yearling filly by Dual Smart Rey out of a money earning Smooth as a Cat daughter. That prospect, SBF Smooth Reyna is just completing her first year in the show pen and has earned her Certificate of Ability and is preparing for the Derbies in 2023 and 2024. Reyna has finished the show season sound both mentally and physically due to Calle Miller’s care and training program.
We look forward to 2023 and the ability to succeed even more. We will also welcome a 2023 foal by NRR Cat King Cole to continue the success of our breeding program in the show pen.
